I know I love cooking, BUT…
I know I love cooking but second day of Eid proved to be an eye opener.
It was a day full of events. My both kids got their medals for completing the target of reading for summer. They got it for Burnaby Public Library’s Summer Reader Club. They had a ceremony in the morning, I also volunteered for the event. We stayed there from 8:30 to 11:30 in the morning.
We were invited for lunch at a friend’s place. I couldn’t go because I had to complete and submit my assignment. I also had 3 families coming over for dinner. I thought I will finish the assignment and cook while all men in my family are out.
Plans apart, what happened was not what I would have expected. All time was utilized in doing assignment. Credit goes to a long assignment and my watch which was running slow. The realization of this reached me when the Men came back.
Only 1 and a half hour left in guest’s arrival and I hadn’t cooked one single thing!!! That is when I started cooking 5 things at the same time. After those 1 and half hour I ended up making Biryani, Qeema karelay, Daal, Aalo ki bhujia and fried fish with chips.
I knew I loved cooking but could do it this fast. Now that was a record – atleast for me.
